Project Description: The New Hartford Public Library Addition & Renovations project consists of a two story, 8,800 square foot addition that took advantage of the sloped site.

 

The ground floor of the addition created a unique garden entrance to a two story lobby with a grand staircase and elevator to the main floor.  The ground floor also contains a large community room, a second staff work room and office area.

 

The second floor of the addition, which is the main floor of the library, nearly doubled the size of the stack and reading area.  It also made way for a new cafe, new & larger quiet rooms, an expanded teen area and an expanded children's library.

 

The interior of the existing library also received renovations to staff work room & offices.  The existing interior finishes were refreshed and new carpeting was installed throughout for a cohesive design.

 

Both interior & exterior design elements & finishes were utilized for a seamless extension of the existing facility.
