Project: Station 1 Addition & Renovations
Client: Maynard Fire District
Location: Marcy, NY
Cost: $2,000,000
Project Description: The Maynard Fire District project consists of a 4,635 square foot addition plus a partial basement
and a storage mezzanine. The existing 9,000 square foot facility was completely reconfigured and renovated to support the District's
needs.
The addition houses three large apparatus bays, a storage area, a decontamination shower room, a new ADA compliant restroom,
a new utility room and a large storage mezzanine.
The existing building was reconfigured so that three previous apparatus bays,
that were becoming too small due to the size of the modern equipment, became all new offices, lounge, fitness center and a table &
chair storage room. Two smaller apparatus remained for for rescue size vehicles, but the space received a new trench drain,
new overhead doors and new finishes.
The building exterior was dramatically changed by converting the original flat roofed building
to a sloped roof, all of the existing brick was removed so the addition and existing would blend together and all of the existing
doors & windows were replaced. A new entry tower was incorporated that houses the new digital siren.
