Project Description: The New Hartford Fire Department project consists of two one story additions that bookend the existing two story facility.  The existing building interior received renovations and finish upgrades throughout.

 

One addition houses a fifth apparatus bay and the other addition houses a training room, a museum room, restrooms, mechanical room & storage rooms.  The existing building was renovated to provide ADA compliant restrooms, finish upgrades, a fully renovated kitchen and a new trench drain system in the apparatus bays.

 

The exterior of the additions are finished with a custom blend of brick to match the existing building.  Large cornice moldings were incorporated to complement the classical design of the existing facility.

 

On the exterior walls of the museum room, a Firefighter's Memorial was created.  Black granite slabs with the names of all deceased firefighters since the department was established in 1901 were installed.  Names can be added on site as needed in the future.  The memorial walls have a stamped concrete covered walkway with a colonnade.
