Project Description: The Westmoreland Central School District - New Middle School Project consists of a new, two story, 70,000 square foot building to accommodate approximately 500 students in grades 5 through 8.

 

This facility houses 23 standard classrooms, 2 science rooms, technology suite, music & band suite, home & careers room, art room, computer lab, library, large multi-purpose room, kitchen, cafeteria, gymnasium, locker rooms, teachers' room, nurse suite, administration & staff offices and other support spaces.

 

The interior of the facility is is finished using the school colors of green and yellow as bright accents to highlight building elements such as structural and mechanical systems that are left exposed in select areas.  The school colors were also incorporated into the flooring, lockers, cabinetry and gymnasium equipment.

 

The exterior of the building is a combination of decorative concrete masonry and EIFS.  Like on the interior, structure was left exposed on the exterior in select locations.
